Abstract

Vascular anomalies in the upper limb remain a diagnostic conundrum and a surgical challenge for hand surgeons due to their potential to bleed intra-operatively. We report a case of a teenager who presented with progressively enlarging left distal forearm swelling for 8 years. She was treated with surgical excision and had a satisfactory postoperative outcome. Here, we discuss the differences between a primary venous malformation and a vascular tumour.
